April and May are synonyms of the Kid’s Week in Condeixa and 2018 brings the 7th edition. There are several restaurants included in this edition, and the Pousada’s restaurant is one of them.
The initiative Cabrito week runs from April 27 to May 6 and is the responsibility of the City Council of Condeixa that seeks to promote two of the endogenous products, enhancing the attractiveness to the county. This year there are 16 restaurants, the price of € 12.50 per meal (dish, drink, coffee and escarpada, the sweet spot much appreciated) will be charged.
The kid roasted in a wood oven, with roasted potatoes and cooked greens is the typical Condeixa dish, prepared with art and knowledge, in several restaurants in the county. The herb of Santa Maria, present in the vegetation of Sicó and food of goat cattle, is seen as responsible for the genuine and distinctive flavor of that animal’s flesh.
At the end of each meal, the client is invited to fill out the ballot paper, evaluating the kid, taking into account the quality of the confection, the taste, the texture, the presentation and the attendance, so that in the end the winning restaurant that will later bear the label “Golden Kid”.
This year the award of the “Golden Kid” will be held at the Pousada de Condeixa.
